Developer Charges Pricing Policy
Headworks Charges
The “Cradle Mountain Water (CMW) Developer Charges Pricing Policy” states CMW is currently developing an equitable Headwork’s Charges Policy in accordance with the Interim Price Order ( IPO). Headwork’s charges are payable on new developments when their final plans of survey are lodged with Council for sealing or prior to the use commencing for non-subdivision developments. For clarity, headworks charges are only payable on the lots within the stage.
To take into account the differing demands on the system from different types of development (conventional residential, medium density ,commercial and industrial) the charges will vary. The charges are necessary to ensure that the cost of upgrading headwork’s infrastructure is not left to the existing residents. The headwork’s charge will vary from area to area due to the direct costs of headworks servicing the area.
CMW has commenced establishing the equitable headwork’s charges rates and has completed three (3) areas to date. The three completed to date are the Ulverstone area, Port Sorell area, and Latrobe area.
The remainder of the areas serviced by CMW are expected to be finalised by the end of January 2010. As the individual areas are finalized the charges and supporting reports will be placed onto this web page.
