Development Assessment Fees
As of 1 August 2010 Cradle Mountain Water (CMW) introduced a revised fee schedule with regard to the provision of Development Assessment Services. This fee schedule applies to all Development Applications received across the region. Pricing is structured in a way that is indexed relative to the scope of the proposal, taking the following matters into consideration:
- Time required by CMW staff to assess and provide advice relating to the proposal
- Land size
- Total allotments
- Supply/discharge requirements
Building and plumbing applications requiring CMW input (non-exempt applications) should be lodged with the relevant fee.
Development applications forwarded by Council to CMW for assessment will attract a process fee. Applicants will be advised by CMW of the respective fees once the application has been received from Council.

Developer Charges Pricing Policy
The Cradle Mountain Water Developer Charges Pricing Policy states that CMW has developed an equitable Developer Charges Policy in accordance with the Interim Price Order (IPO). Developer's charges are payable on new developments when their final plans of survey are lodged with Council for sealing or prior to the use commencing for non-subdivision developments. For clarity, developer charges are only payable on the lots within the stage.
To take into account the differing demands on the system from different types of development (conventional residential, medium density, commercial and industrial) the charges will vary. The charges are necessary to ensure that the cost of upgrading headworks infrastructure is not left to the existing residents. The developer charges will vary from area to area due to the direct costs of headworks servicing the area.
